The runners they need foods high in carbohydrate, low fat and moderate protein. They should consume nearly 400-800kcal daily.They should take food 2-4 hours before exercise. Carbohydrates they need 1.2 gram per kilogram of body weight .If they take carbohydrates before exercise will boost in  glycogen stored in their muscles. It will enable them to work longer. If they do exercise after CHO consumption will provide a supply of glucose in their blood .It will give extra fuel and extra energy to them.

Runners need Protein nearly 0.5-1gm per pound of body weight per day .It will help for strengthen the muscle tissue and repair.

Weight lifter also they need whole protein for muscle mass .protein boost the muscle strengthness.

Runners and weight lifting people both they want protein because it will helpful for muscle building and strengthen the muscle tissue , repair and it will fight against pathogens.

Fluid is necessary to maintain water balance to prevent dehydration during exercise.
