In cancer rapidly growing abnormal cells in the body, so the the patient is receiving a treatment like chemotherapy if there is a greater risk of low level of cell count . majorly that WBC count in this situation the WBC count has been reduced to 1.2 lacs the white blood cells plays a major role in preventing and infection if the cell count has been dropped suddenly because of any treatment there is a high risk of getting an infections.
So as a nurse the should be implemented in the care of
chemotherapy patients while -
WBC count has been dropped is majorly e the blood cell count has
been checked periodically throughout the course of treatments. And
less WBC count has been causing and neutropenia which leads to
infection so we have to take care to reduce the chances of
infection by performing an excellent daily personal hygiene,
example wash your hands frequently use alcohol free antiseptic
solution . mouthwash as daily ,and avoid situations that will
increases the chances of getting any infection example contact with
the fomites, aand also infected person and take extra precautions
to be decrease the chances of injury and the infections.
And check the temperature by mouth for an report if has been increased we have to report to the oncologist and also eliminate the uncooked foods which contain harmful germs and causing and infections and increase the eating a fresh fruits and vegetables will improve the cell count .provide health education regarding the infection control measures
