DISCUSSION
1) Melanie, a breast cancer patient receiving chemotherapy, comes into your office for her normal treatment. Upon examination, it is revealed that Melanie is experiencing flulike symptoms. The physician asks you to order a CBC. What results might you expect for a patient with Melanie’s characteristics, and why? Why might Melanie be experiencing flulike symptoms?
In case of Cancer patients the immunity is severely hampered and this can result in loss of immune system defences and can lead to serious medical consequences only even normal infections which are not harmful in normal persons but our senior challenges when your immune system is compromised as in case of chemotherapy patients such as Melanie. On Reporting flu-like symptoms, the doctor ordered complete CBC in order to determine the amount of platelets in the blood cells in Melanie to determine state of a immune system and if she has infection and what is sorry used in condition to fight have the same infection before undergoing another round of chemotherapy which could further affect her immune system. After reporting flu-like symptoms it is mostly due to the side effects of the chemotherapy and reduced in a system function in the body which could in some cases lead to tu serious side effects and impact on the health of the patient undergoing chemotherapy treatment. It is most likely that the doctor might eventually find reduced CBC results which could indicate towards and impaired immune system. The flu-like symptoms experience by Melanie is direct result of the chemotherapy treatment taken by her and the toll that her body is under due to the chemotherapy treatment and the chemicals affecting having system severely leading to side effects and her body reacting in various symptoms which includes flulike symptoms which is being reported and undergoing
