Pretend you are the coordinator in a brand new home for late adults. How would you set the home up so that the residents are getting their physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs met? What would the structure of the home be like? What kinds of activities would you implement, if any? What kinds of social interactions would you promote? What would you want to make sure to emphasize? What might some of your concerns be?

1) For physical, cognitive and psychological needs to be met:- Phycosocial assessment has to be carried out which is necessary to determine the level of care is needed by an elderly person. On the basis of this, medical care, nursing care is assigned.

2) The design or structure of the old age home is designed according to the type of people residing that will be residing there, there economic status. Because old age homes are generally either on free basis or on paid basis. They can be dormitory type or independent type or even can be cottages.The rooms should be well ventilated. All the arrangements for required items should be made in the ground floor for easy access. The toilets should have rough floor to avoid slipping and should have railings. Recreation rooms and rooms for medical care should be built.

3) Activities to be implemented:-Old people needs happy time to be spend out the most. All the fun activities should be included which should also include some physical works also such as gardening,group exercise classes, walking classes, recreation hall and so on. Again all of these depends on the budget.

4) Social interactions help the elderly to live fully to the limits. Interactions can be through group discussion, round table discussion, meeting other seniors in other old age homes, exchanging thoughts with them and so on.

5)Emphasise:-Each and everyone gets the equal care or the care as per needed to be specific. Discrimination among them should not be present. No ugly fights to take between them. Medical care should always be on tip for them.

6) Concerns:- Whether all the demands can be fulfilled or not. Any sudden problem. What to do in any sudden natural calamity such as earthquake, cyclone. A lots of concerns comes on the way itself while running such a home.
