On Monday, one of the most notable events in the 2020 presidential election took place. Few have heard. The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that, for mainly procedural grounds, the Green Party would not appear on the state's general election ballot, a Green Party mistake.

But though the reasoning is trivial, the outcome is not: in the election, which is less than 50 days away, the conservative-leaning top court in Wisconsin offered what could be a massive blessing to Joe Biden and Democrats.

The campaigns of both Biden and President Trump regard Wisconsin as crucial in their journey to winning the presidency.

The court did not even get into the content of the matter of address, but mainly decided that it was too long for the Green Party to appeal. Early voting begins this week and more than a million of the 3.4 million eligible voters in the state have submitted a mail ballot. It would have left electoral authorities struggling if the high court had allowed the Green Party on the ballot, and others claimed it would have cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. As it was seen by the Green Party nominees differently.
