Healthcare has been a major policy debate in the 2020 presidential election. Some Presidential candidates have

proposed expanding Medicare to all Americans, a plan called Medicare for all. This would nationalized

health insurance and all Americans would have the same coverage, paid for through taxes.

Do you believe the government should offer health insurance to all? If not why? If so why?

Solutions

Expert Solution

It is not possible to provide healthcare to all because it will be a great pressure to the economy of the Government. There are many important issue and all the issues should be considered seriously. If the Government spend such a huge amount of money only for health, then the other issues like unemployment, infrastructure development, environment preservation etc would be neglected.

In such case the Government can take certain steps on the issue of the health care. In America more than 25% people are rich. The percentage of the poor people is almost 14 to 15 percent. The government should provide the healthcare facility on the basis of the economy. A certain amount should be spent for the poor. The middle class people must be included in the healthcare. The rich people have their own sufficiency to maintain healthcare cost. Again, in the healthcare scheme there must be limitation of the package. A certain amount can be allotted. If all are under unlimited healthcare scheme then there will be great increase on tax in every field. So, careless solution of one problem will give birth of many problems.
