#. When choosing and acquiring an information system in health care there are manydecisions that must be made. The process may be different from one organization toanother, but the basic principals will be very similar. It is important for medial offices toknow all the details before making any big decisions. When choosing which system togo with it is important to keep in mind the stakeholders and how it will benefit them.“One of the first decisions is whether to choose between outsourcing the IS and/or tobring inIT (Information Technology)Technicians to work within the facility.”(Hicks,2015)When an organization is choosing an information system the organization must decide how much to invest. It is important to try to decide which system has morebenefits for the company and which will benefit the staff and the stakeholders more.Next the organization must determine what the goals are for the people involved.Once the goals are determined then it will be much easier to decide which system willbenefit everyone more.Lastly the IS must be HIPPA compliant in order to protect thestakeholders information along with the staff.“Another important factor to considerwhen making this decision is the training of employees, the cost to train these employeesand the capability of the employees to learn how to use the newly implementedinformation system.”(Hicks, 2015)All of these are a great place to start when decidingon a new IS for a health care organization to have the greatest benefits possible.
