1. Answer: Option d

Cows are given growth hormones in their feed which makes them sick with E.Coli.

Growth hormones are used to add to the cattle feed legally or illegally. Overuse of steroids in cattles may cause negative health impact in humans , but it may not become a cause for E. Coli infection.

Other options are wrong :

Option a : Daily use of antibiotics may increase the cows' susceptibility for antibiotic resistance.

Option b: The cheap corn diet may make the cow's gut less resistant to E.coli bacteria as the acid production may get decreased in this case.

Option c: Unsanitary conditions may contaminate the beef and also the other animal products such as milk and may increase the risk of E.coli infection.

2. Answer: Option A ; It resulted in people eating more sugar.

People may consume more sugar or carbohydrate item as an unitended consequence of the low fat diet.

Other options are wrong:

Option b : Many epidemiological studies revealed the association between the heart disease and the increased consumption of fat.

Option c: The recommendations included the avoidance of transfat from margarine also .
