Action is related to the dynamics of a physical system from which the equations of motion of the system can be derived through the principle of stationary action. Action is a mathematical functional, which takes the trajectory of any system as its arguement.
Classical mechanics postulates that the path actually followed by a physical system is that for which the action is minimized, or more generally, is stationary on the basis of Hamilton principle. Classical equations of motion of a system can be derived by minimizing the value of action integral and is basically helps to find the dynamics of particle i.e. to find the Euler Lagrange equation.
