nursing education, conducting investigations of complaints against
nurses and adjudicating complaints.
ANA
guides the profession on issues of nursing practice,
health policy, and social concerns that impact patient
wellbeing.
Through our position statements, ANA amplifies the voice of nurses
and educates both consumers and policymakers
They establish standards for safe nursing
care and issue licenses to practice nursing
monitor licensees' compliance to state laws, and take action
against the licenses of nurses
who have exhibited unsafe nursing
practice.
The NPA lays out the requirements for licensure and defines the
scope of nursing practice
