Scabies is a contagious skin infection caused by a mite called Sarcoptes scabiei. It is characterised by severe itching. the main mode of transmission is through close contact. It is very common to spread more easily in the family, schools, nursing homes, prison etc. if anyone in these groups are affected. therefore, doctors usually recommend treatment for all those who have come across with the infected person.
Options a and c are incorrect as it is not related to scabies. Scabies is a skin infection, but these options say about treatment of hair or scalp related infections.
Option d is incorrect as petroleum jelly is not commonly used in the treatment of scabies. If it is used also, sulfur based petroleum jelly is used. But it is also not very common.
