I do believe that this whole issue is a controversy that is slightly being blown out of proportion. While I support minorty communities and would definitely want them to enjoy similar privileges as the majority in the mainstream society, the fact and the reality is that everyone’s needs cannot be always accommodated. For instance, I think about individuals with physical disabilities the lack of amenities for them, I feel that bathroom issues for a normal functioning transgendered individual is not as essential an issue, as they are free to choose any of them, according to their comfort level. Some people are advocating for a separate bathroom altogether, while the simple solution in my opinion is to have a common bathroom for all three genders, as a bathroom is enclosed in four walls and what goes on inside is very much the same for everyone. However, I would still come back to my original perception of not seeing it as an urgent or burning issue, given that there are many more serious problems that exist in our society currently.
