Gigantic Life Insurance has 4000 users spread over five locations in North America. They have called you as a consultant to discuss different options for deploying Windows 10 to the desktops in their organization. They are concerned that users will be bringing their own mobile devices such as tablets and laptops to connect to their work data. This will improve productivity, but they are concerned with what control they have over the users' access to corporate data. How will Windows 10 help the company manage users who bring their own devices?

Expert Solution

Gigantic Life Insurance is a big company that has many users spread over locations. The users will bring in their own devices and Windows 10 is to be installed in the desktops in the organization. So yes, Windows 10 does help the company to manage users who bring their own devices to connect and control the users' access to corporate data.

Also the company can have also different device types such as laptops and desktops. All of these devices can be managed using tools such as System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, or other third-party products. These products or tools will help the company to maintain the standards for security and manageability.

Security technologies such as Group Policy, Active Directory, and System Center Configuration Manager also provide for manageability and security.

Also cloud-based device management solutions can be used such as Microsoft Intune, Azure Active Directory, Azure Information Protection, Office 365, and the Microsoft Store for Business to control the data that users have access to in the corporate network. For example the tool Azure AD join with automatic Intune MDM enrollment can bring devices into a corporate managed state in one-step authentication. Azure AD Join helps accounts kept on different domain but still can access permitted corporate resources.

Thus this is security for the company so that users can access only limited and permitted data. Users can add to their account in Windows and access work resources on the device.
