Gigantic Life Insurance has thousands of insurance brokers selling their services. Recently, some of the insurance brokers have been the victim of a phishing attack that resulted in usernames and passwords being stolen. The overall cost of the attack was over a million dollars, including the time to reset passwords and verify data.
Your manager would like you to come up with a short explanation of how this might be prevented in the future.
How to prevent from phishing attacks:
Be ware of suspicious links wherever it is. Ask brokers not to open it at any time. Be very cautious with usernames and passwords. Updating the servers often and installation of firewalls is necessary.
Educate and train brokers with a mocking phishing scenarios. Using SPAM filter we can detect some unwanted requests.All systems has to be with proper updated antivirus software.Encryption and decryption of software models used by the brokers is must.
Deploying password complexities, changing it often is must needed.
