When this power shift becomes necessary, it should be done quickly rather than endure further destabilising delays. However, change management should be handled with caution because of resistance to change. Management expert Charles Darwin has stated that:

“It is not the strongest of the species that survive nor the most intelligent, but the one most
responsive to change”.

From the above statement examine how adapting to change in business strategy and the business environment may impact customers from supply chain perspective.

The success of an organization links inextricably to the performance of its supply chain. If a business needs to succeed it has to make its supply chain efficiency and if there is any change in business the supply chain should be changed accordingly. If these changes were not been accepted and the development took place as required then it won't be able to serve the customer or even the organization as and when required.

Businesses do not operate in an empty space rather in a dynamic environment that has a direct influence on how they operate and whether they will achieve their objectives. The external environment of business comprises of many things and these changes whether in political , social, technological, economic creates a unique set of challenges and opportunities for businesses. The efficient supply chain is the backbone of an organization and with the changing environment, it has to move dynamically. A strong supply chain will help an organization to overcome all these changes and meet the needs of an organization and its customers. As an organizational process drivers change, the overall approach to supply chain management must change and keep pace. An inefficient and poorly operated chain can negatively impact every aspect of an organization, threatening the long term performance and success of a business. Evolving organizations need to focus on keeping their supply chain aligned with the overall business strategy, organizations must embrace supply chain excellence as a core competency at all.
