As we know polymer structure is a complex in reality because the monomers are connected in a fix pattern for a particular polymer this networking provides polymers strength and essential mechanical properties required for different applications. You have heard about the cross-linked network in different types of polyethylene like High density polyethylene, Low density of polyethylene, this cross linkage is more for High density polyethylene as compared to low density polyethylene and due to this networking we get different types of polyethylene for different different purposes. So we can also conclude that network in polymer is important.
