What does a 95% confidence interval mean?

What does a 95% confidence interval mean?

Solutions

Expert Solution

95% confidence interval is calculated using the mean value, standard deviation, sample size and critical value corresponding to 95% confidence level

95% confidence interval tells us about the possible range of values within which we can expect our population parameter.

For example, if we have calculated a 95% confidence interval for population proportion and we get confidence interval (0.56,0.75)

Then we can say that we are 95% confident that the true proportion will be found within the range of 0.56 and 0.75
