Briefly describe the major differences between immediate, working and long-term memory. How is it related to forgetting? Explain in your own words

Memory

Its a process to acquire, store, retain and later retrieve information.

Immediate memory

Called as recent memory. In this the individuals recall information recently presented. Ex, name of book or any adress. Once after the immediate use the thing will be forgetten. Immediate memory testing helps in the assessment of intelligence or neurological impairment.

Working memory

Closely related to short term memory, Its a memory which can memorise a limitted capacity that can hold information temporarily.

This memory closely related with the concentration of the individual. There is auditory and visual working memories.

Long term memory

This memory helps in the storage of information over an extended period of time. This memory is unlimited to individuals. Can memorise any thing they want. Their are several types :-

Procedural memory :- its the memory of motor skills.

Semantic memory:-.memory related to the world

Episodic memory:- memory of events.

The memory power is differ in all individuals. Its related to the exposure to a particular thing. If we are exposing more, then memory to that thing will be more. If we are not exposing to a particular thing then the chance of forgetting is high.
