Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Evidence was found by Robert Sapolsky by his studies relating to stress response in Baboons. He found that the stress causes hormonal response such as adrenalin and glucocroticoids which can increse Baboon's heart rate and energy level. The Baboons have lots of free time. So, they have similar stress such as ours. Abd due to this stress, they have some illness. He found out that their reproductive system doesn't work as well, their wounds won't heal as fast, they have elevated blood pressure etc. compared to Baboons without stress.

2. The specialized nerve cell which allows us to see colors is Cone cells. These are photoreceptor cells found in the retina.

3. The structures in the eye which allow for the visual perception are: cornea, iris, pupil, lens and retina. The cornea passes the light tthrough iris and pupil to the lens. The lens focuses this light on the retina. The specailized cells in retina such as cone cells and rod cells act as photoreceptors and conveys the information to the brain through optic nerve. The brain processes the infromation and visual perception is achieved. These things are happening simultaneously.

4. Occipital lobe. The occipital lobe of the brain of the Central Nervous System recieves information from the optic nerve. Information is passed to visual cortex of the brain which converts the impulses to make us see the object.

5. The parietal lobe recieves information regarding chemical changes in mouth and nose. The parietal lobe is the lobe associated with sensory cortex. It processes information regarding touch, taste, pressure and pain.

6. The auditory information is processed in temporal lobe. The temporal lobe recieves information of auditory system and process it to make out words and language and meaning of words.
