Expert Solution

Since the origin of life on earth many organism evolved and many of them extinct. Enviornment of earth is constantly changing since beging of life or begining of earth. living beings need to cop with this changing environment for survial. natural selection results in the evolution of those who have adopted and has fitness higher than others. sexual reprodiction is a great tool to acquire new characteristics. progency of two superior member of comunity inherit character from them. we have limited resources, which result in competition. there comes Red queen hypothesis, which says you have to evolve in continously evolving environment and a compititor who is evolving too. organisms who have adopted to environment also passed this informtion to their prgeny, this was stated by Modern evolutionary synthesis. bacteria acquries antibiotic resistence genes from gene pool which help them servive. non ranom mating will make a population deficult to survive, because it may result in expression of harmful recessive genes. mutation also help in drift of allele frequecy. which result in the adoptatio of entire population.

Developmental Biology has made substantial contributions to the field of Evolutionary Biology, providing tools that allow us to mechanistically study Darwin’s concept of “Descent with Modification”. This combination of Developmental and Evolutionary Biology has become its own discipline, Evo-Devo. The phenomena of heterotopy, heterochrony, and heterometry can combine in a variety of ways to bring about generational variation in a species that can, in conjunction with natural selection, result in evolutionary changes. “Darwin’s Finches” is an example of this.
