Nurses aquire two types of knowledge through reflective practice such as

  1. Techncal rationality which is associated with imperical science
  2. Tacit knowledge which is linked with experience and expertise

Effective clinical reasoning in nursing practice depends on the development of both cognitive and metacognitive skills which can be acquired through reflective practice. These skills possession is accomplished through teaching-learning attention to self‐regulation learning theory.
