What is the difference between reports, requests for proposals, and proposals?.
Difference between Report, Request for proposals and proposals:
Reports : The act of Recounting something or the act of giving a verbal or written account of something, that one has done, investigated, observed or heard.The reports may be meeting minutes, progress report, memos, audit and expense reports, annual, monthly and daily reports to the in- charges etc.
Request for proposals ( RFP) : A Request for proposal is a document that made by a company or agency , which announces the details of a project or a product , and asks the potential suppliers to submit proposals to complete a project. RFP usually made through a bidding process. Most of the time it is prepared by
Proposals: Proposals are something which is proposed or offered for consideration or acceptance. Proposals are made by new buisiness teams in response to RFP , for getting new buisiness opportunities. Proposals should contain mainly 5 elements such as Purpose of proposal, background information, Solutions to the problem , Cost for the intervention/ product/ solution and conclusion.
For example: A company X is giving RFP for internal audit services for quality assessment , and a number of Auditing services firms are responding to it with proposals .
* Reports are usually written in past tense, but Proposals are written in present or future tense.
