How might we legally define the point at which manufacturers become responsible?
In Unites states we have a law called product liability law.It
refers to the liability of the seller or manufactures who are held
liable for providing a damaged or defective product to the
consumers.Product liability law protects the consumer from
receiving a damaged product from the manufacturer or seller.
It is purely the responsibility of the sellers and manufactures to
sell good products to their consumers.According to this law the
manufacturers should meet the expectations of the consumers.
Liability of the defective product could rest with anybody in the production chain.Product liability is a law which makes manufactures,retailers or suppliers held responsible for the damaged product they provide to public and also responsible for the injuries caused by a defect product.The birth of product liability law was in US during the 19 th century.Apart from the product liability law we also have strict liability law .This law states that manufacturer or distributor legally owe to the consumer who received a damaged product and manufacturer should provide compensation to defendant even if the person who got damaged product took necessary measures to prevent defect.Manufacturer is fully responsible for the manufacturing and designing of a product .Manufactures will be always held responsible for their products and it is the responsibility of the manufactures to ensure that their products meet certain complied standards.Under the strict liability law manufactures is fully responsible for allowing the damaged products to enter the market place.
