"Karyokinesis" can be used to describe Nuclear division. Two types of nuclear division are Mitosis and Meiosis. The word karyon refers to walnut and karyokinesis mean division of nucleus.
One of the term that describes nuclear division is "Mitosis" which occurs in vegetative or somatic cells. Meiosis occurs in germinal cells
The word Mitosis is derived from Greek word miton which refers to thread. As the spindle fibers during the cell replication cycle pull apart the nucleus, Mitosis term can be used to describe Nuclear division.
