EHR is an electronic health record . Here health information about the patient and population is stored in a systematized manner electronically in a digital format . The information about the patient and population includes personal statistics like age , weight , demography , medical history , medication and allergies , immunization status , test results , radiology images etc . The information can be shared across different health care settings . Since I am from India I have selected PurpleDocs which operates in India has a website . Its logo says "Connecting Healthcare Stakeholders and Enabling Patient Engagement " .
They have young team comprising of 10 people comprising mostly of Information Technology Professionals and 5 mentors and advisors who are doctors , investment professionals and business consultants . In the offerings they have :
A. Purpledocs ; This is a cloud based offering where indoor patient records and diagnostics are digitized . These are accessible online anytime & anywhere and can also be analyzed online .
B. PD+ : This is a Tablet Based App for Doctors , Clinics and Hospitals . These are used to generate digital prescriptions which can be electronically transferred and shared with patients and pharmacists . Doctors , clinics and hospitals can access the patient's records and analyze them . These can also be used for explaining the treatment and diagnosis .These can also be used to take video images of patients .
C.PD Engage : This is an APP for patient engagement to improve patient care and patient satisfaction .
D. PD Analytics : This is AI (Artificial Intelligence) and ML (Machine Learning) driven healthcare data analytics platform to help make useful inferences and predictions for better patient care and preventive healthcare .
E. MyPD : Here a person's and his family's medical history can be build , managed and analyzed . And also Doctor's prescriptions are available online instantly & medical records can be scanned and uploaded instantly .
In contact us we have general enquiry , sales enquiry and customer care where in the format for all general enquiry , sales enquiry and customer care is same comprising of name , email address , phone number and message .
From the above what we can make out is that in the core team which is in operation we do not have a single doctor to check on the quality of records being generated . The core team composition and composition of mentors & advisors points out at one aspect that the venture is more into the profit side and less on the quality side . PD Engage looks half cooked and actually it is more important because this is where the patients can share the valuable feed backs and help in the improvement of the services . The offering seems to be one way from the service provider to the customer (patient) . Both the communication lines from the service provider to the customer and from the patient to the customer should be equally strong . Both the doctors in the advisor and mentor section are from Ahmedabad and blogs are also from doctors in Ahmedabad . Blogs should be from all across the country .
The areas which are not listed and readily available are :
1. Network : In what all areas in India the services is provided and who looks after the after sales service locally in each area .
2. List of present customers and their reviews .
3. Information on any rewards and recognitions given to the service provider by any of the recognized bodies .
4. Telephone numbers for instant contact should be there on the website in case of any query related to customer service .
