Abnormal colors of nail beds are -
yellow nails - can be indicative of lymphatic system problem , diabetes ,liver problems, nicotine from cigerrete , respiratory problems such as chronic bronchitis
purplenails - oxygen problems, circulatory problems, congenital problems .
white spots on nails - iron and zinc deficiency , arthritis
white areas under nails - fungal infection
Red nails - brain hemorrhage , heart disease ,lung disease,stroke
darkening of nails - can be indicative of kidney problems
blue nails. - cyanosis , Wilson disease ,raynauds disease , septicemia
green nails - allergic to cleaning agents , bacillus infection
grey nails - arthritis ,edema , malnutrition
brown / Red lines on nails - endocarditis , parasitic infection called trichinosis
Brown spots under nails - psoriasis
palpation of Dorsalis pedis artery - Dorsalis pedis anterior to foot and lateral to extensor haulicis tendon in first intermetatarsal space within 1cm of bony prominence of navicular bone , Ask the patient to extend the toe that helps in elevate this landmark and make easier to check pulse

Hand held Doppler signal must be multiphasic with
three distinct audible components - forward flow , reverse flow and forward flow - triphasic
Two component signal - biphasic
One component signal - monophasic
