1) Patient with acute or chronic urunary retention.
Urinary retention is a urinary disorder characterized by accumulation
of urine in the urinary bladder,it may occurs due to benign prostate hypertrophy
or enlargement of prostate.so performing a folyes catherization helps the patient
with this disorder to pass urine.
2) Patient with urinary incontinence.
Urinary incontinence or involuntary frequent passage of urine can be managed
by insertion of a folyes catheter into bladder through urethra.
3) Patients with urinary tract infection.
Folyes cathetrization helps to irrigate the bladder and eliminate bacterias,pus cells
with the use of a flushing sterile solution in patients with urinary tract infection.
4) Patient with presence of blood clots in the bladder that cause urinary obstruction.
Blood clots present in bladder is common after a urological procedure and
it may obstruct the urethra and restrict the passage of urine through urethra,
so Folyes catherization required for this patient remove the blood clots through
bladder irrigation.
5) Before cesarean delivery.
Folyes catherization is required before a cesarean delivery to ensure emptying
of bladder for avoiding the risk for bladder injury during the surgical procedure.
