We are interested in the causal effect of gun control laws on life expectancy.  Explain, in words, why income, insurance, smoking, obesity, teen birth, and metro status are important controls in our model.  Use economic theory in your explanation.

The following are the important controls in the society:

• Income: inequality of income discriminates against people living in one country. It creates a differentiation of class between the people which creates a pressure on the lower class of people and this causes many people to die of poverty as well.
• Insurance: the more insurance being made on a project extracts more amount of money from the public. The money should be put to use like in the welfare activities, etc.
• Smoking: cigarettes contain so many materials which can harm the human body to its deeper end. To save the lives of people, the government should control the sales of cigarettes.
• Obesity: obesity is caused due the overweight of people, if not controlled it can result in death of the person too. The control on junk food and adulterated food shall help in reducing obesity.
• Teen birth: teenage pregnancies usually cause complications and can result in the death of the mother and child both or either one of them. It also causes the fathers to start drinking and smoking and also drug abuse, which usually happens in the less educated families and because of the less potential to earn in future.
• Metro Status: it causes discrimination of poor and rich and also a pressure on the poor families to earn that staus, because of which many children adopt wrong path and commit illegal activities which destroy their lives.
