Expert Solution

Repolarization

It is referred to the period of state in which membrane potential comes to its restoration stage of the resting membrane

Rhythmicity- long or short note events occur in a continuous or repetitive manner without any external stimuli.

Right artrium- the upper right chamber which received deoxygenated blood is called right artrium.

Right coronary artery- the main blood vessels which originated from the right aortic sinus and supplies blood to right ventricle , right atrium and nodes is called RCA

Right ventricle- the lower chamber of the right side which caries blood from atrium and pump deoxygenated blood Into the pulmonary vessels is called right ventricle

Semilunar valve- the valve present in the pulmonary artery and aorta which prevent back flow of blood in the right ventricle and left ventricle is called semilunar valve.

SA node- it is defined as tissue located in the right atrium, that generated electrical impulses Essential for the heart contraction.

Stenosis- constriction or narrowing of the tubular organ of the body such as blood vessels etc is called stenosis

ST interval- the segment between s wave and t wave is ST intervals.it is situated between the ventricular depolarisation and repolarization.

Stroke volume- it is the amount of blood eject or pump by the heart per beat.

Superior Vena Cava- the major vein which caries deoxygenated blood from the upper body and drain blood into the right artrium.

Systemic circulation- it is a pathway in which the blood carries essential nutrients and oxygen to all systems and every tissue of the body for the normal functioning of the organ. In this arteries carries oxygenated blood, vein caries deoxygenated and minutes capillaries provide oxygen to tissue.

Systemic vascular resistance- it is a resistance experience by the blood vessels offered by the flow of blood.

Systole- it is period of heart contraction in which the heart pump out the blood into the organs via aorta.

Systolic pressure- it is a pressure experience by the arteries by the blood pump by the left ventricle.

T-wave- the wave which represents the repolarization of the ventricles is called t-wave-

Tricuspid valve- the valve which is present between right ventricle and right atrium, with 3 leaflet is called tricuspid valve. It prevent the back flow of blood.

Troponin- it is essential protein required for the muslce contraction of the skeletal and cardiac muscle.

Vasoconstriction- it is a process in which the narrow of the blood vessels under the influence of hormones or baroreceptor.

Vasodilation- dialation or widening of the blood vessels. The parasympathetic nerve fibres to drug induces vasodilation. It is essential in the hypertension.

Normally after birth, the blood entering the right side of the heart (right atrium) is low in oxygen, while the blood leaving the left side of the heart and entering the body’s main circulation (the aorta) is high in oxygen. However, sometimes the foramen ovale fails to close after birth. What effect will this have on the level of oxygen in the blood that leaves the heart to enter into the aorta? Fully explain why.
