Introduction-

Uncertainity reduction theory- This theory was developed by Charley Berger and Richard Calabrase in 1975 in order to describe the communication process when people meet for the first time, it is concerned with how people communicate and how the knowledge is shared and understood.Based on this theory people will retrieve information about other people in order to reduce uncertainity about other people behavior.

What is Axiology all about ? - It refers to the study which includes two types of values i.e aesthetics and ethics- Ethics is concerned with the right and good in individual and social conduct while Aesthetics is concerned with beauty and harmony, it thus refers to the philosphical study of value and how these values comes about in society.

The author of the theory will answer the three specific axiology question i.e

  1. Nature of value ?It relates with fulfillment of desire, a pleasure, a preference or human interest of some kind.
  2. Criteria of value ? it states the do the objective standards apply.
  3. Status of value ? It refers to how value relates to facts ? What ultimate worth do human have if any

The author may answer these questions by maximizing the persuasiveness of a salesperson as he is the one who uses non verbal communication as a high level of language power and high level of immediacy were hypothesized to singularly and jointly increase a sales persons level of persuasiveness.
