Eidetic memory also knownas photographic memory is the ability of recalling the images, sounds and objects with high precision even with a brief exposure. Its that ability of people when they are able to be recall notes of music with precision to which they might have been exposed to a brief period of time,it also includes why some people are good at remembering long mathematical formulas or calculations,or some can remember an event of past with every minute details,or even how some people are good at remembering each word line to line of a book. Most people do not have this memory because of our evolution. During childhood we have this eidetic memory ,that is replaced by symbolic memory when we start thinking in abstract terms. Its the way of evolution because storing memory as it is in the brain is difficult, hence,we have traded off photographic memory to symbolic memory with exceptions.
