Medical Terminology is used to create a standardised language for medical or health care professional, this terminology or standarised language helps the medical staff communicate more effectively which helps them to make the documentation easier.
2. If the health care profession have Knowledge about Medical terminology & records it help to reduce the errors from poor documentation & help the staff to quickly & accurately review the patients medical history.
3. The knowledge about the medical terminology & records which helps the health care team to quality communication which help the healthcare member team to improve patient safety by reducing the number of mistakes.
4. its knowledge is required to provide more efficint care to patient e.g. a doctor may see 100 of cases evey day, so physician or nurses may write common abbreviations or standarised terms. so it is necessary that all the health care professionals should be able to understand these abbreviations and terms to provide quality care to the patient.
5. It is also essential to maintain the continuity of care.
For Example:- I the postoperative Unit the health care worker observe the patient, the doctor write the notes to administer Inj. Morphinne B.D. IM. so in this it is necessary that the health care provider must know about terminolgy of BD & IM to provide efficient care to patient & for patient safety.
So understanding of medical terminology & records help the candidates to improve their job performance.
