Briefly describe why and how members of the following professional groups are involved in the treatment of chronically ill patients by discussing possible interventions (one for each group).
A) Physical therapist:
The physical therapist has specialized prepartion in physical therapy.Therapist assist in examining,testing and teating physically diabled clients.Physical therapist also assist in patient's functional ability,strength and mobility:carries out therapeutic treatments,particularly those dealing with the musculoskeletal system and teaches families about exercises and other measures that can contribute patient's recovery and rehabilitation.
B)Occupational therapists:
An occupational therapist develops adapative devices that help chronically ill or handicapped clients perform activities of daily living.The therapist is primarily concerned with the retoration of bodily functions through specific tasks or skills,rather than exercises and treatments.They frquently play a large role in rehabilitation by helping people to develop new skills or to relearn lessened or lost through illness.
C)Dietitions:
Dietitions assist in planning dietry measures to improve or maintain a clients nutritional status and counseling clients about their nutritional problems
D)Social worker:
A social worker counsels clients and families about home care services and assist the continuing care nurse with planning discharge.They also evaluate the psychosocial situation of the patients and help people with their social problems.
E)Clinical psychologists:
They helps the clients to control psychological problems such as anxiety ,depression,learning problems through psychotherapy.They study about normal as well as abnormal behaviour of the client.They upgrade to provide a quality care to the patients and also maintain a good health.
