Solutions

Expert Solution

Provisions of the ACA

1) Young adults are now able to remain on their parents’ insurance plans as dependents until age 26

2) Individuals who do not have ESI must purchase insurance on their own or pay a penalty

3) In order to support the low income people, the ACA expands Medicaid eligibility to all individuals under age 65 with annual incomes up to 133 percent of the federal poverty level and however there are certain exceptions as well.

4) There are also certain impositions on insurance companies and for instance insurance companies can no longer charge higher premiums or deny coverage due to preexisting conditions, and insurance policies have to provide a minimum amount of preventive services without any cost‐sharing.

With these additional provisions, the ACA has become successful in reducing the number of uninsured level to a massive extent which is something highly appreciable on the whole.
