(ACA) Affordable care act refers to the reform law related to
healthcare system. It was enacted in March of 2010 which is also
called Obamacare.
Primary provisions of this act is as follows:
- The law enabled affordable health insurance which benefitted
more people than ever to take the medical services. This was
accomplished by providing subsidies to people whom income comes
between 100% to 400% as per the federal poverty law.
- The Medicaid expansion occurred which delivered its benefits to
people having income upto 138% of FPL. Hence, the beneficiaries of
Medicaid program increased and hence the heathcare delivery.
- Support innovative medical care delivery methods designed to
lower the costs of health care generally
- The innovative medical care delivery was introduced that
transformed the healthcare system. Electronic Health Records or EHR
usage increased. Medical care equipments were modernized to provide
better care to the patients. Innovative medical care paved way for
low cost HealthCare services.
These provisions put a great impact on the healthcare system in
aspect of mainly delivery as the beneficiaries increased, method
was improved from innovative medical devices and equipments.
Quality of care increased with the innovation in healthcare.
