what are Sleep disorders, how can you promote rest/hygiene, what is NREM & REM?
Sleep is a major and most important routine of all living beings as it is the phase where the body's functions are reduced and all other functions and process of the systems are high thus helps in eliminating the toxins and repairing the body. When this is affected the impact will be on enitre system of the body both physically and mentally.
Difficulty in having a sound and good sleep in called as insomnia. It is the most common type os sleep disorder.The individual finds it difficult to stay asleep or to fall asleep, the underlying causes are many some of which are depression, stress or pain due to underlying diseases.

There are many methods and investigative rocdure to determine the sleep disorders some of which are EEC, sleep latency test etc.
Proper management for sleep disorder is lifestyle changes which will include changes like meditation, yoga, diet changes, physical activity that will flush out the stress hormones and relax the mind. In severe cases medication like sleeping pills. dental gaurds or surgery to remove any obstruction in the airway is performed.
REM tsnads for Rapid eye movement sleep: Here the sleep is deep with rapid eye ball movement which is conjugate. It is very important part of the sleep where the dream occurs and cosolidates the memory. It occupies approximatelt 30 percent of the sleep. Other name is paradoxiacal sleep
NREM stands for Non-Rapid eye movement sleep: No movements of the eyeballs and occupies approximately 80 percent with no dreams it is also called as slow wave sleep.
