Health informatics is the incorporation of the information system into the healthcare. Information technology is used to record, store and manage the healthcare data.
Various applications and systems are used to efficiently input the medical information of the patient in the computer, store them safely and manage them. Informatics help reduce the paper work, reduces manual errors and help improve the quality of services provided by healthcare organizations.
Health Informatics has also developed several applications to improve accessibility to the healthcare system. It has also come up with useful systems that help keep track of patient's vital parameters, lifestyle, sleep schedule, diet which aids in improving the delivery of healthcare services.
