Female Reproductive system:
The major parts of Female Reproductive system are the -vagina- , uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries. The external structures of Female Reproductive system are the labia majora, labia minora, mons pubis, vulva , -clitoris- , and Bartholins gland.
Uterus:
An important organ of the Female Reproductive system , in which the young are conceived and develop until birth. It is also called as womb.
Ovary :
A paired organ ,of the Female Reproductive system, that produces ova and in mammals it secretessecreted the hormone oestrogen and progesterone.
Fallopian tube:
Either of the two ducts in female mammals through which ova pass from the ovaries to the Uterus.
Cervix: The lower narrow portion of the Uterus where it joins with the top end of the -vagina- .
-vagina- : The passage leading from the opening of the vulva to the cervix of the uterus for copulation and child birth in female mammals.
Along with the external structures, various hormones and pheromones supports the reproductive functions.
Male Reproductive system:
The major parts of male Reproductive system are :
Testicles : The male sex and endocrine gland that produces sperm and male sex hormones including testosterone.
Scrotum: The bag of skin and muscles that contains the testicles
-Penis- : The male reproductive organ , used for sexual intercourse and urination. It is the tubular portion of male genitalia.
The duct system: includes epididymis ( where, sperms stored for maturation) and the vas deferens for transporting sperms.
Accessory glands: includes Prostate gland and seminal vesicles for producing fluids that lubricate the duct system.
Reproductive cycle:
Through the process of Oogenesis , as a part of Menstrual cycle , ovaries produces ovum, ( one ovum each month from any one ovary) that will be released and the fallopian tube will carry it to the uterus. The sperms produced by the process Spermatogenesis in the testes will be stored in Epididymis and vas deferens carry it to the urethral part during copulation. Fertilization is the process of fusion of one Ovum and one sperm from millions of sperms that enter into the -vagina- . Fertilization results in the formation of zygote, and it can develop into embryo and fetus in female uterus to produce new offspring.
