2Evolution- it is define as the change of Earth Modification by Natural Selection favorable traits passed on -> genetic make-up of the population changes.
Theories of evolution- 1. Darwin’s theory
2. Lamarck’s theory
1. Lamarck’s theory- this theory state that Similar species from
common ancestor changed over time and it is driven by inner
"need"
Ex. A giraffe could grow a longer neck and then pass it on to its
children
This was flawed because he said that it took one lifetime to
develop an acquired trait, but it actually took dozens of lifetimes
to develop an acquired trait.
2. Darwin’s theory- Darwin's work shows how the living world is constantly changing, which helps us understand things like drug-resistant bacteria and newly emerging diseases.
Three patterns darwin noticed from the environment- 1) Species vary globally, (2) Species vary locally, and (3) Species vary over time.
Darwin’s 2 major theoires are- 1. Descent with Modification-
newer forms are modified older forms -> likely descended from
one or a few ancestors (like Lamarck)
-biogeography
2. Modification by Natural Selection- enviornment limits growth of
populationfavorable traits passed on genetic make-up of the
population leads to EVOLUTION
