  1. Holly Murphy falls while roller skating. She comes down hard on her left arm, which begins to swell and discolor. Holly guards her arm and complains of intense pain.

SWELLING AND DISCOLORATION AFTER FALLS WHILE ROLLER SKATING

If the patient has only swelling and discolor ,that we can diagnosed only soft tissue injury .

MANAGEMENT OF SWELLING AND DISCOLORATION

The discolorations are usually red or purple right after an injury .This is because they are the color of the bolld that has pooled underneath the skin .

Management includes-To elevate the afected area above the heart to keep blood and fluid from pooling in the injured area .this also help to prevent swelling .

-Use cold pack for the first 2 days after bruising to shrink blood vessels .

-After 2 days use heating pad or warm compress on the area to ease and speed healing .

-Over the counter pain relivers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen ,can decrease pain .

-Gentile massage can encourage blood flow and encorage healing .

-To take rest the afected area .

-Wearing a brace to limit movement .

-Avoid placing constant ,intense pressure or heavy weight on the affected area to prevent aggravation .If the bone or joint does not rest enough ,the healing process can slow down ,and further damage might occur .

-We can take dietory advice also -It includes ,eating a deit rich in calcium ,vitamin d ,and protein can help the healing process .

And if it is not recoverd after few days ,we need to consult doctor again .

INTENSE PAIN AFTER FALLS WHILE ROLLER SKATING

If the patient complaints of intense pain after falls i will imediately sent the patient to doctor for physical examination and further radiology study.

After physical examination find the patient has joint pain, tenderness and stiffness ,that cause joint dislocation .

CONCLUSION

Most of the injuries earned by roller skating are long-lasting and area related to our muscle and sometimes our bones .The easiest way to avoid the likelihood of injuries throgh our time roller skating is to visit skating classes ,especialy if we are unbalanced and are likely to fall most of the time.
