For many global multinationals the challenge is to write off the benefits the web offers. Going global can provide an avenue for further growth for scores of internet startups that initially focused on their home market.
Amazon anticipates that Europe could ultimately prove to be a better place to do e-commerce than the United States for two reasons: with Europe's high population density (1) delivery is faster and (2) real estate prices are high in high-traffic urban areas , resulting in a cost advantage.
