Ans: Definitely the above statement is correct both construction management and site management has some what similar responsibilities but with some fine division will be there.

Example – If we take a building project worth of 120 crores ,

The main role of construction management is that they will schedule the project , cost , quality , safety , scope and function. Where as site management is about execution of the specified task , coordinating the all levels of departments , and coordinating the workers and the contractors for work done.

The Construction Management Tasks involves - In general the 120 crores building project take 2 years duration to complete , it is a residential building project named as discovery city the gated community. The scope of this project is this is a integrated township which includes inbuilt all facilities. And the construction management prepare budget for the total project which includes the Work break down structure of whole project , all the activities will be taken and corresponding quantities will be calculated based on the present ,market rates the BOQ will be prepared. And this team will responsible for monthly reports , work flows , cash inflows and out flows. They will give the working schedule to the site management.

Site Management – The site engineers , Managers comes under this. After taking the BOQ they will make a schedule of labour , material , machinery and required money, They will allocate the labour to each activity and complete the work within a specified time. And workers safety , work quality will comes under this.

  • Both the management will work for the completion of project within a time , and with the specified scope.
  • Rules are same for both but the responsibilities may vary based on the position of individual.
  • And the both are reporting to the project management.
  • I think there is no that much differences are there the construction management involves the scheduling of the project where as site management involves the execution. Both are interrelated on one other.
