Identify the strongest intermolecular forces present in a pure sample of ClF3.
ion-dipole forces
London dispersion forces
hydrogen bonding
ionic bonding
dipole-dipole interactions
In trying to figure it out but the descriptions are so confusing that I'm completely lost. I figure hydrogen bonding is out
Cl has lone pair on Cl.
So, ClF3 is polar.
It will have dipole-dipole interaction.
Every molecule has London Dispersion forces.
So, ClF3 will also have London Dispersion forces.
