Part A. The company luncheon was held. The event was a success, even though there were some glitches in the planning and some minor conflicts. All in all, everything seemed to flow smoothly on the day of the event. Now the event is over. Imagine you were the project manager on the project. Describe how you would facilitate post-project meetings with staff, customers, stakeholders, etc.? Why would you approach the meetings in the manner specified? Part B. It's the end of the project, and the project manager has completed your evaluation. To your dismay, it was a team evaluation. Meaning the entire group received the same feedback and recognition, even those who did not complete their assigned tasks. The project manager was made aware of those who neglected their duties, and still, everyone received the same evaluation. Do you think this is fair? Explain your stance. If you were a project manager, explain how you would have resolved this issue?

Expert Solution

Part A

In the post-project meetings with various stakeholders, it is vital to stress out the things which went right in making the event a success. Also, the meeting would involve a congratulatory note from the project manager as a token of appreciation for the success of the event.

The next step involves there would be a small presentation on the learning the things which were done right and also the scope for improvement. The meeting would end with the noticeable points as discussed.

A precise approach is recommended to encourage and motivate the stakeholders about the good work done by them, fortify the learnings from the event and the process involved in organizing the same and also reminding everyone of the team effort involved and requirements for future events with the same intensity.

Part B

From my point of view, it’s not a fair one. It will demotivate them who are performing well in the project team. As a project manager, I will take this issue seriously to realize everyone that their contribution is utmost important for me. To resolve it, I will take the following actions:

1) Everyone will be given a particular target to perform the evaluation.

2) I will personally make a counseling session to these employees so that they can bring their valuable contribution.

3) People having some assignments and duties must be investigated for making the project works can be achieved on time.

4) Some momentary system will be set to see who will neglect and not contributed well will be penalized.

5) I will motivate everyone to achieve a high level of goals.

6) A code of ethics for discipline, performance, behavior etc. must be developed so that they can reach their goal achieved.

7) A suitable, equitable and realistic reward and recognition program will be established by me to manage my team project.
