describe several project evaluation criteria
Project evaluation criteria are different for different
organisations and also may differ according to the people who
defined them. It is their choice of reviewing the project and hence
it is their viewpoint. below is a generalised description of five
basic project evaluation criteria, however, that must be
satisfied.
1.Relevance:It talks about how much consistent the objectives of
the project are with the requirement specifications of the clients
or their partners.
2.Efficiency: It is a vital criterion one project should pass with.
It is defined in terms of what outputs are obtained from what
inputs and how efficiently it is done. The maximisation and
optimization of the resources/inputs like time, costs, expertise is
the key here.
3.Effectiveness:It is a measure of the extent upto which the
project development objectives were achieved or can be achieved
subject with their relative importance.
4.Impacts: Various impacts of the projects like
social, economical, technological and apart from all this also the
long term effects which may be positive or negative, intended or
unintended produced during the project development.
5.Sustainability: It is something like the long lasting nature of
project and it may be defined as the probabiity of long term
benefits that can be achieved from the project even after the
completion of the development phase.
