Expert Solution

Yes, project change management was a consideration in our evaluation. Because project change management is also a type of project management in which a change is managed for implementation in the current process/set-ups of the organization. So to introduce a new project or change the existing project, or more or less it is same for the organization point of view, because an organization has to carry out the readiness for both either the new project or change in project, in order to have the implementations in place based on the new project or change in project. So change management is a type of methodology for project management , which takes care the change in projects implementations part in the organizations.

Changes anticipation on the St. Dismis project: Since this is a facility construction project, it may have change like as below

  • Design change proposal
  • Resources replacement changes
  • Additional of new requirements
  • Changes in the timelines
  • Changes in the project cost

Identified change’s impact on project risk and quality: These changes may impact the project and may have risk to the project and quality issues as below

Design change proposal may have the impact on the quality levels of the construction project, as new design and old design may suit match with each other.

Resources replacement can be difficult change as it will be difficult for the new resource to manage the new construction as per the old pattern of construction.

Changes in timeline and cost may have adverse impact on the project may creates risks to the project.

Proactiveness of a project manager in project change: Project management is the key skill of leading the projects in the organizations. Change in the project is another skill, that is essential and necessary for a project manager, because changes keep coming in the project management and these needs to be managed effectively.

Proactivness is the key concept and as a manager I need to keep focusing on the potential changes that can come in the project management, so that these can be managed and introduces properly with due review and approval from the project stakeholders.

As a project manager, my role and responsibility is to lead the project and complete it within the given timelines. So if I did not focus on the changes n the project management, then these changes can impacts the lead time of the project and it will be difficult to manage the project and complete it within the given time frame with the given cost model. So as a project manager, I will be proactive in managing the project changes , so that changes of the project are managed effectively and will not have adverse impact on the project execution, timeline and quality levels.
