Consider a project to build an amusement park. What are some of the resource constraints that would make this project challenging? What could you do, as a project manager, to help manage the constraints and project scheduling?
Amusement parks are the thing of the next generation and one of the most profitable business. But there are certain constraints.
1. Feasibility of the project: To maximize the return, a detailed feasibility study is essential. An experienced research team is needed to study the feasibility of the amusement park, the location, the theme of amusement park, market competition etc.
Location: Based on the feasibility study, proper location of the park to be selected. It should be near a populated area or a metro city.
Proper planning: Proper planning to be done based on the feasibility study about the land size, shape, types of rides to be installed.
Timeline to finish the project: to finish the project in schedule, experienced vendors to be hired who have experience in building amusement parks.
Finance: Building amusement parks are capital intensive business. Therefore, finance is needed. Once the business plan is finalised, investors and shareholders are needed. An able agency is to be hired if needed to find investors.
Proper marketing: Advertisements in appropriate media is to be done. Proper advertisement gives the project a proper kickstart.
Licences and Permits: Building amusement parks may need local licences and Permits. So, arranging them in advance is vital for an uninterrupted construction and scheduled completion.
Upgradation: People always look for new thrills and amusements. So, adding new rides and upgradation of existing rides in a timely basis is very necessary.
Experienced staffs: Hiring experienced staffs is necessary. But localisation of staffs are also very important in long run. So, hiring experienced staffs and training of local staffs is to be done very efficiently.
