A large healthcare provider organization is facing two important IT project considerations. Both need to be done; however, time, budget, and IT resource constraints preclude doing both at the same time. Project A is a clinical support system and has a cost of $3M with initial estimates that it will take 9 months to implement. There is currently a system in place that is outdated but will not satisfy requirements of meaningful use. $500k in incentives could be lost without this system being in place. Project B is a management support system that will provide enterprise-wide planning and real-time tracking of critical benchmarks. This includes decision support guidance on a portfolio of over $50M in projects underway. The cost is only $2M with a 6-month estimated timeline. Which project do you choose and why? Develop a project A versus project B evaluation and make up your own proxy data where necessary.
I would choose project B
Project B can be done at lower cost whereas Project A has to be done at higher cost
development time of B is less.Since development time of B is less,we will have to handle vaious pressure to meet the deadlines, but still Project B is better. It gets completed fast and gives much faster results and we get the profit faster. Finally with less spending we get more benifit.
project A is a clinical support sstem and risks involved in its development is much more as compared to that of project B ,which is a management suport system.
Project A is not finished at time, will affecct, whereas B the probem is comparitively less.
