ANSWER-MINORITY AMERICANS HAVE LOWER RATES OF INSURENCE COVERAGE AND LESS ACCESS TO CARE LACK OF HEALTH INSURANCE IS LINKED TO LESS ACCESS TO CARE AND MORE NEGATIVE CARE EXPERIENCES FOR ALL AMERICANS .HISPANICS AND AFRICAN AMERICANS ARE MOST AT RISK OF BEING UNINSURED.PROBLEMS OF MINORITIES FACE IS INCLUDE SOCIAL DISCRIMINATION AND ISOLATION,UNEQUAL ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE ,EMPLOYMENT AND HOUSING AND EXPERIENCE NEGATIVE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH OUTCOMES DUE TO THESE EXPERIENCES.
HOW DO RACIAL INEQUALITIES TRANSLATE INTO HEALTH DISPARITIES?
ANSWER-FOR PERSONS OF THESE RACIAL/ETHINIC MINORITY POPULATIONS,HEALTH DISPARITIES CAN MEAN LOWER LIFE EXPECTANCY,DECREASES OF LIFE,LOSS OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES,AND PERCEPTIONS OF INJUSTICE.FOR SOCIETY,THESE DISPARITIES TRANSLATE INTO DECREASED PRODUCTIVITY,INCREASED HEALTH CARE COSTS, AND SOCIAL INEQUITY.
