Formula:

Future Value= Present Value * ( 1+r)n

Problem 1:

Given:

Present Value= $1700
rate= 7% or 0.07
time period ( y )= 5 years

Future Value = 1700 * ( 1+0.07)5

   = 1700 * 1.40

= $ 2380

So, he will be able to withdraw $ 2380 at the end of 5 years.
